What is Collaborative Leadership Inquiry?
Collaborative Leadership Inquiry offers the opportunity for a group of school leaders to engage in a range of action based activities through which they learn more about:
· Themselves as leaders and the work of leading a school
· School based inquiry as part of their leadership and learning practice
· Gaining new understanding of local and national issues through sharing Knowledge, problem–framing and problem-solving to develop new perspectives and solutions
· Learning centred leadership
A key element of collaborative leadership inquiry is that it is a study of leadership which is rooted in real practice in school and across schools, provokes perspective shifts and promotes new behaviour and action. Click here for more information on Collaborative Leadership Inquiry.
Who is involved?
Collaborative Leadership Inquiry is focused upon groups of Head Teachers who have decided they would like to engage in learning together and are prepared to meet on a regular basis e.g. monthly, for an agreed period of time. Groups can vary in size but the optimum number is 15 for a group. There needs to be commitment to learning together to enhance leadership practice in their schools or group of schools.
An external facilitator is selected by the group and provides challenge, ideas, expertise and skills to ensure that participants learn collaborative inquiry processes as well as achieve the outcomes of the collaborative leadership inquiry.
How does it work?
We work with a school or partnership of schools to construct leadership programmes within and across your organisation. By working collaboratively, both individuals and whole organisations develop their leadership skills. All participants will be supported by our professional coaches and will be able to provide peer support for their colleagues.
How much does it cost?
Cost will always be minimal and will depend on the level of support you wish, what additional external programmes you may want and how many individuals register on our TDA funded programmes. We will both deliver and broker bespoke programmes and will provide detailed costings for you. We will incorporate subsidies and grants where ever possible so that the programmes may in some cases be free to you.
How long does a programme last?
Since our programmes are set in the context of learning communities we suggest one development cycle may last for two to three school terms. In other words we can provide a full year of CPD for all members of your learning community.
What do you do next?
