Our view of leadership is that you are not born to lead but you may have some traits which make you more suitable for particular styles of leadership. The purpose of our leadership development programmes is to identify those areas of strength, and to reflect on their impact on staff and the organisation. This should strengthen the culture and climate within the team and organisation.
We recognise that with strengths there are corresponding weaknesses. These also need to be identified, challenged, and built upon to increase personal leadership effectiveness.
We believe that leadership cannot be taught but can be learned. Our approaches seek to promote new and alternative models of leadership so that participants can develop their own styles and understanding of what works for them in their own unique context.
Participants are encouraged to reflect on existing, and new models and find opportunities to try out new approaches.
